If you download the latest VS04 firmware for the 832s(from that site) you will find the prepatched firmware to change the 812s to the 832s in a folder along with the original;)

ahh yes you are right DipStick, thx for this Tipp .. That means I need only to click on that patched file ?
What do you suggest me , to Change my 812S DVD Writer and get the 832S Writer ? Or keep the 812S and flash it to 832S ? The Price between them is only 22$ , so what do you suggest me ? Thx !

Yeah, all you have to do is run the exe and restart when done, its very easy.
But not sure about if you want to do it man, that is up to you. I will however let you know that it did work out fine for me. I have only burned one dual layer disk but I dont think there will be any problems. I say try it and if it dont work, then take it back;)

If this doesn't work, can I go back to the latest official 812S firmware ?

im a Newbie and my English is`nt so well for understanding all tech Verbs.

Is there someone for help me to upgrade my SOHW812S?
So what i`ve to do now, and whitch Files i`ve to download
The current Firmware is US0Q

Oh ****!!
I`think I`ve destroied my SOHW812S.
I used the Sony.700A.VY05.patched-bs.exe[:@]
Now the green led is always flickering and I`ve no acces to the Drive.

It`s possible to repair it?
The Original FW`s does`nt work, because they identify the Drive as Sony now.

I think by myself, destroid is destroid,
so I made an upgrad with 832S.VS04.patched-_51S@832S.exe and the Burner runs again.
I`ve burned a CD-Rom SVCD and it works.
Unfortunatley a`ve no DVD at the moment, so I do`nt can check it.

What could happen now?
Maybe something will be break down?

Your drive should now be fine, flashing it to the liteon 832s was the correct thing to do. Now, just get a piece of media and test it out. Please post back and let us know your results?

Its very hard to destroy a LiteON recorder, just the drive needed some fine tuning, the codeguys firmware i believe solved the problem [;)]
