You didn't mention your processor, speed, and memory on your system.

Guys since the 812S is the same drive with DRU 530A. Is it possible to transform a DRU530A to DRU700DL.

On the other hand I thing brands can publish officially firmware to support DL. And they can charge the differance as upgrade cost...

It might be interesting to note, the calibration data for the 812S is not identical to that of its bigger brother, the 832S. Hardware might be the same....calibration for writing is not. Suffice to say - it still "works".

;)

Interesting info, however many people said it work, you feel that 812S needs EEPROM fixing also?

emperor -> RE: Transforming a LiteOn SOHW812S->DRU700 DL (6/24/2004 6:35:14 AM)

alaindelon (nice name) thanks for the translation, it should work fine!

aaronwt -> RE: Transforming a LiteOn SOHW812S->DRU700 DL (6/24/2004 8:36:58 AM)

So I can just download the 832S.VS04.stock.rar file.
Then I can just flash the 812S with the 812s to 832s patched file and thats it? It becomes an 832S?

emperor -> RE: Transforming a LiteOn SOHW812S->DRU700 DL (6/24/2004 11:14:04 AM)

You can get the official VS04 832S firmware, the omnipatcher utility, patch the official VS04 firmware flash and you have a brand new 832S

alaindelon -> RE: Transforming a LiteOn SOHW812S->DRU700 DL (6/25/2004 9:53:39 AM)

welcome.

As for my 812S, I decided to upgrade to latest official 812S firmware, but not to 832S firmware yet, since the DL DVD are not avalaible yet in France, (or at least, at 20 eur price).

I am burning DVDs and CDs without a glitch, excellent burner !

See ya.

Hi !
I looked for some successful flashing of the DVD Writer from LiteOn SOHW812S to be as 832S , I opened this Link http://codeguys.rpc1.org/firmwares.html but I didn't know which file should I download to use .. Can anyone please point me to the right file and tell me how to flash my Writer ? I am very new for that and my DVD Writer is new too , I bought it since 3 days ago , I mean the SOHW812S .
Thanks for any help !

emperor -> RE: Transforming a LiteOn SOHW812S->DRU700 DL (6/28/2004 7:01:55 PM)

The patched 832S firmware that allow crossflashing

Thomas1234 -> RE: Transforming a LiteOn SOHW812S->DRU700 DL (6/28/2004 7:20:10 PM)

Thx emperor for your answer ...
But I am still confused I am very new with that ..
Do you mean under this text :
LiteOn SOHW-832S
• Stock VS01 (for use with the OmniPatcher)
• Stock VS03 (for use with the OmniPatcher)
• Stock VS04 (for use with the OmniPatcher) ??
If yes then which one should I download ? 01 , 02 , 03 or 04 ?
If not this links , then which one ? you mean this Link :
