Yes the NEC firmware can support Booktype setting

NOTE: We have discovered that the “Set Drive Default” settings are overridden by both Nero 5.5 and Nero 6.0 even if the book type settings are disabled, it still sends commands that overwrite and changes them. Stomp Record Now Max does not have this problem and writes the discs with whatever settings are default. We recommend you use Record Now instead of Nero.

That's what the DVDInfoPro helpfile says. Maybe that's the problem?

We have used CopyToDVD which worked great with the booktype setting

nexxexium, you have some point, there is already the v1.07v2 beta5 from Herrie, i am sure more or less this version works ok, we may re-test this firmware when more DL media is available
