Okay,

    Don't everyone "hammer" me.  I will have this firmware either tonight or in the morning.  WHEN I get it, I'll come here and post a download link for those interested.....

any news about FW 1.02. (Have you contact to LG, if yes is it possible to become FW 1.02 for 2166)

Minos, no problem at all, as soon as I get it.... it is coming from the factory so I am on a bit of delay (relay emails).

Hagncola,

    YES, this firmware will work for your 2166 as well.  I'll post a 2166 version also.  Give me the DRIVE DESCRIPTION from your device manager (EXACT STRING) and I'll use a hex editor on the .bin file so it is correct for you.

Hey, your drive should be 2166D not 2166B.... that's the official name from LG!

Still nothing, the guy in the factory has been away, but I'll have it as soon as he returns!

My contact has informed him that the person he gets me the firmware from is out of his office until February.  He is still trying to get it from another person, so we may have to wait a bit, we may not.... I promise to post it as soon as I get it!

Someone reported to me that the 1.02 firmware is available through the LG autoupdate software.

My automated update software reports "No Updates Available", but when I go to the LG site manually, there is a new
version of firmware for the 4167B.  No update there for the 4166B.

It was reported on a french forum, maybe the localization is important ?

Just went to the "french" website, it's not on there.... still no word from my friend, hopefully next week.
