Call of Duty's switch to the modern era has bought it back to winning form with a blast. Superbly paced and pumped with adrenaline, it's the all-action blockbuster to beat.

Overall, there are a few flies in the ointment of Call of Duty 4, but none are big enough to prevent this from being a great game. The main thing I felt the game was lacking was the ability to dive for cover as there are a few areas of the game where you have no choose but to dodge bullets and move between cover. At those times, navigation can be a little difficult and you can easily get the process of sprint, stop, duck a little bit wrong.

On November 6th, Call of Duty 4 hit the shelves and arrived by mail in droves. After reserving a copy at Best Buy (I thought it would be wise given the success of the Demo), I found that after picking up my copy that there were only 10 left reserved for others. That's all they had left by the end of the day out of several hundred copies for console and PC alike. COD 4 naturally follows suit and takes place in Europe and the Middle East. This time around, all of the action is completely fictitious but follows along the lines of some popular movies such as Black Hawk Down.
