Users love screen real estate-the bigger the monitor, the better. LG's L204LT 20.4-inch widescreen LCD display indulges this desire with its spacious, simple design and very high resolution. The contrast ratio is quite high for an LCD, and the response time is among the fastest we've seen. ThinkComputers takes a look at the L204WT-one of the best LCD monitors we've reviewed-in this review.

The Viewty is a good example of what a touchscreen handset can be. Large icons (mostly), easy access to most common functions, and some neat extras like the sweeping feature. Even the camera is top-notch. All we need now is a screen that doesn't gather fingerprints and an easily accessible memory slot.

Call this a preview of even better things to come... The fact is we have had the LG GGW-H10NI Super Multi Blue drive in our hands for a couple of months now, however we did not know in full what to do with it. In one hand, the GGW-H10N is the most advanced optical drive you can get for the PC today, with the capacity of reading and rewriting Blu-ray discs, reading HD DVD discs, and handling all other standard media tasks with DVDs and CDs.

We guess it's possible to see a small ray of hope in the BH100. After all, it certainly proves that a combi player can deliver good quality video playback from both next-gen formats. However, that ray of hope applies to future products only. For as it stands the BH100 feels like a merely half-finished affair that compromises the full potential of both HD formats to far greater a degree than we're willing to accept.

Given how affordable it is for a 47in full HD LCD TV, we really wanted to love the 47LY95. But no matter how much we might wish it were otherwise, ultimately that potential 'love' is reduced to a 'mild like' by the way we're forced to make slightly more compromises in one or two key areas than we're really happy with.

Serial ATA optical drives are now readily available, and the timing couldn't be better as motherboards are quickly loosing the last vestiges of the IDE connector. Parallel IDE has been on the outs forever, but optical drives have only recently adopted SATA to replace it. For the longest time Plextor was the only optical drive manufacturer that offered SATA DVD and CD-ROM drives. Those drives were priced at three to four times what regular optical drives cost... but now it's easy to find an Serial ATA optical drive for under $40. Newer, faster, cheaper - that's the PC industry!

After spending quality time with the 42LF66, it's hard to escape the feeling that LG is rather dropping behind its Korean neighbour Samsung when it comes to delivering great LCD picture quality. Black levels in particular need to improve if LG wants to keep up with the best.

Chocolate is one of our favourite things. We can't get enough of the stuff and we really don't like its name to be taken in vain. So our relationship with LG's 'Chocolate' 50PB65 50in plasma TV gets off to a decidedly rocky start when biting enthusiastically into a corner of it gives us nothing but toothache for our trouble. Hmm.

Not too long ago we took a look at the LG Shine and this time we are going to the next level with LG's most elaborate fashion phone, the KE850 or as it's better known, the Prada. To be fair to LG, the Prada phone arrived ahead of the Apple iPhone and it features a touch interface, although, it is not quite multi-touch. The phone itself is tiny for a touch screen device, as it measures just 99x54x12mm (HxWxD) and weighs a mere 85 grams. This in itself makes the Prada phone quite attractive, although that depends if you don't mind being without a physical keypad or not. The Prada does have a few buttons, although only three of them are located at the front fascia. What you'll find here is the make and end call buttons and a back button. The end call button also takes you back to the standby screen and powers on and off the phone.

The Shine is a slider and the keypad is as such situated behind the screen when it is not in use and it simply slides out below the screen to reveal the keypad. If you have used a recent Motorola in the RAZR family, then you will be familiar with the kind of keypad that LG outfitted the Shine with. It is not as tactile as a normal keypad, but it is not as bad as a touch screen. When it comes to phone keypads, the same rules applies as it does to PC input peripherals, there is a lot of personal preference that goes into your choice.

This is a Tri-band mobile with GPRS and is a small format flip phone with inner and outer screens. It feels rather nice in the hand thanks to its rounded shaping, and it should slot nicely into most pockets being just 87mm tall, 45mm wide and 19.8mm thick. When the flip is opened it extends to about 158mm tall and it feels quite comfortable to hold to the ear during voice calls.

The LG KE850 PRADA phone lives up to all the hype surrounding it. It rolls simplicity and sophisication into one with a responsive touch interface that competitors would be jealous of.

I want to say 'eat your heart out Apple, this is one in the eye for the iPhone'. And indeed LG and Prada have come up with a touch screen interface for a mid-range phone that actually works quite well and is available today. But the silver plasticy parts are a disaster for a phone that wants to look cool, the camera is poor, and I'm sure the casing won't be scratch free for long.

SATA DVD writers are the next logical steps for the optical drive industry, after the increases to 18x and 20x writing speed for DVD media. The LG GSA-H62N is another such drive that brings high speed writing to the SATA interface. It also has one of the fastest write speeds for dual layer media. Read on to find out how it performs.
