Not every phone out there has to have fancy bells and whistles. Case in point is the no-frills LG VX5400. It just works, nothing more, nothing less.

You don't need to go to outer space to visit Venus, just hit up your local Verizon store. Other than a fancy name this phone is pretty average.

The LG Voyager's mission is to unseat the iPhone as the hottest touchscreen handset out there, and it gets close.

Retailing at S$838, the LG Viewty has the edge over the competition in terms of performance in imaging, video and even in terms of looks and design, even if the user interface takes a little getting used to.

First, I must admit that I have a hard time not comparing the LG Voyager VX10000 to the iPhone. I've owned an iPhone for six months and am very happy with it, but to be blunt, the two phones shouldn't be compared directly. The iPhone is more expensive, $100-200 more than the VX10000, and isn?t available on the Verizon network. The best feature of the phone is the Verizon V-Cast mobile TV. It's fairly expensive at $15/mo, but having eight channels of TV at your disposal is pretty sweet, and I was usually able to find something to watch between ESPN, Comedy Central and NBC News. The biggest flaw with this phone (and it's not the only phone with this problem) is that the touch screen is more of a gimmick than an honest to goodness feature. It's as if it's added on to compete with that other phone rather than be a useful feature.

A few days ago I got the LG Voyager mobile phone, and I've played with it for a little while now. So far it's been a mixed bag. There are some standout features; however my expectations were a bit higher, especially considering an MSRP of $350, discounted to $300 for new and renewing contract customers via Verizon's website. Amazon.com carries the phone for $200 including a new contract.

The struggle continues between Blu-ray and HD DVD but manufacturers are already racing to produce hybrid drives that can support both. One may expect them to be costly but as the new LG GGC-H20L shows, that may not always be the case. Find out how this new hybrid drive fares.

As an addition to the LG Shine family, the Shine KU970 brings 3G connectivity to the table, while retaining all of the elegance of the Shine KE970.

Provided it's showing a bright, colourful scene from an HD source, the LG 37LF66 can deliver really outstanding pictures - and in this respect it definitely outguns most other budget LCD TVs. The only 'little' problem is that sadly we happen to live in a world where standard definition and darkness still have a rather significant part to play in our lives, meaning that for much of the time the pictures you'll be watching on the 37LF66 really aren't very special at all.

LG has gone from a relatively budget oriented player in the mobile phone market to a company that is something of a fashion icon alongside its Korean counterpart Samsung. The Chocolate and Shine ranges have been very successful for LG, but what we're looking at today has more akin with the Prada phone. The latest model from LG is the KU990 or Viewty is it's also known as. It corrects a lot of the shortcomings that the Prada phone suffered from, but it has some of its own which we'll bring up a bit later.

If you're picky about picture quality and you're used to more polished displays, you might want to save a few more bucks and purchase a higher end display. That's ultimately the path I chose and hence this particular monitor went back to Best Buy.

LCD monitors have evolved rapidly over recent years, especially in response times and panel size. The latest release of 22" monitors has brought several high end monitors well into the price range of a budget gamer. Two of these stand out in particular, the Samsung 226BW and the LG L226WTQ. Both of these panels feature a 2ms response time, which is an essential requirement for gamers (as it reduces any ghosting effects as seen on slower panels). However, the Samsung monitor often retails at a higher price for an almost identically priced monitor.
