Only the 12x and 16x writing time is reduced....

We just finished all results with 1.10 and Pioneer releases 1.14, doh we cannot follow them[8|][:D]

How much faster ist the 1.10 Firmware? So we can try to understand , how much faster is 1.14 ... [8D] [:D]

dunno if it's just me, but my oem pioneer a08 sees my cheapy 4x dvd+r's from meritline as incompatible media. i just got the drive from newegg last nite, flashed the firmware to 1.14, then had this problem.

i also have the retail a08, and with 1.10 it writes to those exact same dvd+r's perfect fine.

i didn't get to try the oem at 1.10... perhaps i should flash back to see if that works.

i should also mention that the firmware i downloaded from the main page didn't work for me (it couldn't find the drive), i had to download the 1.14 from the australian pioneer site.

hehe, sorry, but the firmware i downloaded from the main page that didn't work was for DVR-A08XLA, and not for dvr-108. but regardless, my oem with 1.14 doesn't read those dvd+r's. i will try again tonight, otherwise i'm gonna go back to 1.10 and see if that makes a difference.

you can only go back to 1.10 if you use special flasher...not Pioneer's

i downloaded one from there, didn't work on dvr108. do you know which specific utility i'm supposed to use?
