Hi guys,

I wonder what's the writing speed for the following media with fw1.14:
ProdiscS03
ProdiscS04
Fujifilm03

Generally speaking did Pioneer improve 4x@8x media support I wonder? This seems to be the biggest "problem" of the drive ...
THX

Here you go, 1.14 results

ProdiscS03-> 4X
FujiFilm03-> 8X

We don't have ProdiscS04 (if you know a branded media that uses it, let me know) [8|]

Bulkpaq Orange (Generation 4) 8x DVD-R (25 pack spindle)

Nice and cheap (£5.99/25pack when I've bought them), and they write well on Plextor 712a (in fact a bit better than Datawrite's 8x FujiFilm03) ... the only problem is that lately I've seen Bulkpaq's using Infosmart and Princo dyes as well ... including a fake TYG02 dye (www.feurio.de) ... and some vendors do not indicate which one they sell ... [:@]

It looks to me that they launch the discs with a good dye, and when they become popular, they start using crappy dyes like Infosmart, Princo or even fake TY ... Bastards!!! [:@]

It seems that some of the 8x Printable Bulkpaq's also use this ProdiscS04 dye.

1.14 still burns Ritek G05 at 12x.

lonelyger -> RE: Pioneer DVR 108 Firmware ver 1.14 Released (9/20/2004 1:33:01 AM)

Maybe the Ritek Quality is not good and stabile enough for more than 12x....[sm=matrix10-coolemoticons.gif]

Yes that could be true, but i found very strange seeing MCC004 downgraded to 12X...

lonelyger -> RE: Pioneer DVR 108 Firmware ver 1.14 Released (9/21/2004 1:50:59 AM)

We must ask the people behind the Firmware,why they do things like that.....[8|] [8|]

babyjayc -> RE: Pioneer DVR 108 Firmware ver 1.14 Released (9/21/2004 1:34:57 PM)

anyone else having trouble reading the GreatAzo 4x DVD+R blanks with DVR-108, 1.14?
http://www.meritline.com/azo-dvd-plus-r-blank-media-bulk.html

the a08 1.10 read/write to it perfect, but the 108 1.14 won't even read it.

Maybe because 12X burning is faster than 16X on this pioneer ? [&:]
(I'm joking...)

emperor -> RE: Pioneer DVR 108 Firmware ver 1.14 Released (9/21/2004 5:52:11 PM)

Actually with the 1.10 firmware, 16X was faster than 12X [:)]

lonelyger -> RE: Pioneer DVR 108 Firmware ver 1.14 Released (9/22/2004 9:47:56 AM)

Well,i think, there must be a reason why they to this....

Dolphinius_Rex -> RE: Pioneer DVR 108 Firmware ver 1.14 Released (9/22/2004 3:37:44 PM)

out of curiosity, what is the fastest time anyone has gotten with 1.14 on TYG02 8x DVD-Rs? I know they burn at 16x, but what is the actual time taken to burn a full disc? 6:30? 6:45? something like that??

emperor -> RE: Pioneer DVR 108 Firmware ver 1.14 Released (9/22/2004 5:00:00 PM)

Dolphy i haven't tested in depth 1.14, soon we will prepare a 3500 vs 108 with latest firmware and many media
