LOL !!! Why don't you people do as MP3Mogul suggests and read the Posts just above yours My ASPI FIX is online and you are able to download it yourselves so there is no need for me to send it out personally any more !!! [:D]

Like many others, my PCDRW804 stopped working after some WINXP upgrade. It still reads what is on a cd, but it cannot write to a cd, because it fails to recognize it as an empty cd.
I am running it on a Dell Dimension 4550 with Windows XP Pro.
I flashed the firmware to 2.5, and disabled the IMAPI service-- all to no avail. I ran the nice package that the Laffin Assasin provided, and it did nothing.
HELP, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please try posting only on those topics that are most relevant to the question you raise.
This way it will be easier for us to keep track of the enswers you will be getting. I already suggested a troubleshooting approach on another topic.

Thanks Laffin,

I recently downloaded "Windows ASPI drivers version v4.71.2", but doesn't work. It's come from Adaptec site(http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/driverdetail.jsp?sess=no&filekey=aspi_471a2.exe&language=English+US).

I'd like to know if it's not same prog ?

No it is not the same Version my ASPI FIX includes Version 4.60 which is the most stable version as some people are having problems with later versions if you intend to use my ASPI FIX just make sure you follow the Instructions that are included FULLY !!! [:)]
