Laffin Assassin -> Cure the ASPI Problems with the Philips PCRW804 (7/22/2002 8:16:19 PM)

If you are one of the people who are trying to Update the Firmware for the Philips PCRW804 CDRW with their Flashtool and are having a problem with the ASPI and it is giving you a message saying that you have already installed ASPI or you have the Wrong version of ASPI I have got a little File that should cure it and if you post a request in this thread I will e-mail it to you it is only 249k.It is not the Forceaspi 1.7. The patch I have got is a lot easier to use and it Does work on any version of Windows including XP And after you have applied the patch you can upgrade your ASPI with Adaptech's own Aspi anytime if you need to.!!! It has already helped loads of other Philips users and it may help you look at :-
http://www.cdrinfo.com/forum/topic.asp?whichpage=1&ARCHIVEVIEW=&TOPIC_ID=5041
And make your own mind up and it does work for other brands of CD Writers with the same problem !!! [:)]
But as I say please post a request in this thread.
All you have to do is unzip it into a folder on your hard-drive and follow the Instructions in a txt file in the folder and it should hopefully sort your ASPI problems out!!! [:)]

My Mate MP3Mogul Has now put it online so you can download it just go to :-
http://hometown.aol.com/mp3mogul/aspi.zip
To Download the ASPI FIX !!! [:)]

Hi m8,

Got you fix file, but still no joy.

When I run the ASPI check it says everything is OK - ASPI 4.60 (1021).
But when I run the Philips flashtool (v3.7.0.0), I get as far as starting the flash and it returns the error "Fatal Error - ASPI send error".

I have also tried running flashtool with ASPI layer 4.71 - but same problem.

I'm running the following CD-RW software :

Nero 5.5
CloneCD 4.0.0.0
VCDeasy 1.1.1

Is there an atlernative flash tool I could try, or can you advise further ?

Thanks in advance,

Albaterra.
