DoubleTap -> Medal of Honor Allied Assault (1/25/2002 1:28:53 PM)

Ok...WTF!!! I'm using a Plextor 24X drive and I have made a zillion copies of SD2 games and NEVER had a problem....that is until now. I'm using Fast Error Skip, 3 retries with no error correction, 4 X....4 coasters so far. Is there anything new about the protection that I might be unaware of?? Maybe I should of kept my Acer... :)

If you need a crack you have one too many :)

netman -> RE: Medal of Honor Allied Assault (1/25/2002 5:39:55 PM)

initial reports are that the liteon 24x and 32x are the only drives capable of burning this version of sd2. some have reported using other drives to burn but they used the liteon ltd-163 dvdrom to read. to early to be clinical though.

Ahh, sorry the PX-W2410A is (reportedely) not copying this new SafeDisc 2.51.XXX.XX All other drives are also failing aswell, (including your ACER) exept the Lite-Ons 24102B and 32123S and there are reports that the Plextor's 1210A and 1610A are working but only in some cases. AWS is also failing. Maybe Plextor could revise a firmware update to fix this, or the CloneCD author could fix it with an update also.
Me very angry at this. As soon as MOH:AA is avaliable here in OZ, I will test with my PX-W2410A.

Another (BAD) conclusion would be that Macrovision has defeated (Finally?) the PleXWriter 24/10/40A and other correct Eight to Fourteen Modulation (EFM encoding) recorders. Hope not though, we will just have to wait and see.

Check the CloneClinic forum for updates on the matter http://welcome.to/cloneclinic

Make sure you have version 1.01 of BetaBlocker (you can find this @ www.cdrinfo.com under software)

Open BetaBlocker SD2.51,
Open the folder the CloneCD image is,
Drag the image .img into the BetaBlocker screen,
Then press 'patch' AND your'e done!

John, can you please tell us if the PX-W4012A has a cooling fan mounted on the rear and is made in Japan, just like the early hardware revisions of the PleXWriter 24/10/40A (TLA# below 0101 had a fan and are made in Japan, whereas, TLA# above 0101 were made in CHINA and have no fan!)

Thanks - Last question, I promise

Don't worry....our review will be full and as usual perfect

We care about users so we will test full CloneCD reading/writing features unlike some other sites that wants to call themselfes "close to users"

Good

I think that you can put www.cdrlabs.com in that category

I'm so anxious for this review!

Thanks for the reply

Cool, just made a perfect copy of MOHAA and it runs fine with my Pioneer 16X DVD drive.

Used LiteON 24102B w/latest firmware. Only "fast error skip" checked (0 retries, software) and read speed at max. Image created in 6:30 min and burned in less than 4 minutes at 24X

Clint -> RE: Medal of Honor Allied Assault (1/28/2002 5:51:07 AM)

@ j00k,

It works fine cause your burner fully supports SafeDisc 2.51.XXX Whereas my PleXWriter 24/10/40A doesn't .....Yet!

clint,

have you tried using the latest version of Betablocker like the other guy suggested?

per_son -> RE: Medal of Honor Allied Assault (1/28/2002 3:08:27 PM)

I just tried the latest version of beta blocker on my Plextor 24/10/40A drive (with the latest firmware) along with Clonecd with no luck. Also tried it without using beta blocker Used fast error skip and 1x read and write. Anybody have any idea why this drive doesn't work with this game? Is it a hardware of software limitation? Never had a problem until now! Trying to decide on keeping this drive or selling it and getting a Liteon drive.

per_son -> RE: Medal of Honor Allied Assault (1/28/2002 3:58:51 PM)

Just got MOHAA copy to work with Plextor 24/10/40A! I used the settings I posted above. The only problem is that it won't work in the plextor drive but will work in another cd-rom drive. Anybody have any ideas as to how this is possible?
