Hi Guys,

Brand new here. Just ordered a 3500 from Newegg. Sent back a Liteon 832. I'm still real confused on all the versions.

What is "Riplock" and what does it do? Did my Liteon have it?

Is this the latest official version for my 3500?

Sorry and thanks :)

I just flashed this - no support for +r SL/+rw bitsetting! Back to 2C8 SE . The Auto bitsetting leaves it at +r/+rw . I even tried with the original TDK file - still no good.

Hi guys, I just bought a mad dog 16X DL and I'm having some trouble...I'm pretty new to burning DVDs and hope someone could give me a help.
I tried burning a DVD -R X8 with Decripter. It was burning at 1.5X, very slow...
So I dowloaded the firmware 2fa at the official site. I flashed it and turned off the computer. When I turned it back on Windows did not recognized the DVD burner anymore, nor did Nero or Decripter. I'm lost and don't know what to do...
Can anyone give me some ideas? Thanks

Hey guys,
After turning my computer off the second time it started recognizing the drive...but it is still burning at 1.5X with Decripter. System: pentium 4, 3 ghz, 512mb of RAM; Burner: Mad Dog 16Xdvd9; Software: DVD Decripter; Media: TDK -R 8x; firmware: v2fa
Does anyone knows how to pick up the speed?
Thanks a lot!!!

Damn, oh well, I guess I'll just keep waiting for a better one that does. Thanks for confirming it eros.

You can use Liggy's 2.18 (the one including bitsetting). It works fine.
Also it has the newest strats.
Hopefully, 2C9 will come soon and it will include proper +RW bitsetting (including on already written +RW discs).

I am using Liggy's, but I was hoping for an "official" release.
