ASUS Updates PadFone Infinity With Snapdragon 800, microSD Slot

ASUS today made its new PadFone Infinity official in an event Taipei. The updated device is powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 SoC, has a microSD slot plus a secondary microphone for noise cancellation.

The new PadFone, which combines 10.1-inch tablet form factor display and battery with a 5-inch form factor smartphone device, also features a diamond cut on the metallic backside and comes in two new color options - black and White.

Its internal storage options have been also lowered to 16GB and 32GB.

The device is based on Android 4.2 and is equipped with the same 13-megapixel f/2.0 camera also met in the original Padfone model. However, a revamped app has gained a feature called PixelMaster, which combines multiple pixels to form a smaller but sharper and cleaner 3-megapixel image.

Other features include a 5-inch 1080p Super IPS panel, two-megapixel front imager, 2,400mAh battery and SonicMaster audio technology. LTE 800/1800/2600 connectivity is also supported.

The new PadFone Infinity will cost NT$18,990 ($640) off-contract, and the tablet dock is priced at NT$7,000 ($240.)
