Firmware Hacks

As we have already mentioned, the LG GSA-4120B doesn't support Booktype Bitsetting for any format. LG un-officially released a firmware that supports DVD-ROM booktype for +R/+RW/+R9 discs, which can be found at TDB website.

The package includes two files, the N0ADAUTO.exe and N0ADRPC1.exe. The windows flasher will flash your drive without any problems. Using the official firmware...

Afterwards, we can check the drive's new information, our drive is region free :-)

After burning a DVD+R disc we saw that the burned disc had DVD-ROM booktype:

With the N0AD firmware you can also have DVD-ROM booktype for DVD+R DL discs, fixing this problem. Of course, we would like to have this feature from LG officially not from un-official firmware. Its quite possible that the N0AD improves the media compatibility with several media we have reported in previous pages...
