TDK introduces 8x INDI DVD multiformat burner at CES

TDK announced the introduction of its highest-performance Indi DVD Multiformat burners. Providing 8x recording speeds for both DVD+R and DVD-R media, TDK’s new 8x+/8x will be available in internal (model AID+880) and external (model DED+880) configurations.

Desktop PC users will appreciate the internal Indi DVD’s simple installation, integrated styling and superior quietness (<45dB acoustic noise). Featuring both FireWire/IEEE 1394 and USB 2.0 connectivity, the external Indi DVD can be connected to notebook PCs and Mac computers.

Both new 8x+/8x- Indi DVD models feature the easy-to-use TDK launcher interface, allowing customers to fire up included software applications from a single screen. The TDK launcher interface makes it easy for anyone to immediately begin producing Hollywood-style DVDs, photo slideshows and other creations. Both models feature a comprehensive software suite that enables ripping and recording MP3 and audio files, backing up large amounts of data and more.

All drives include TDK’s acclaimed 7 days a week tech support and thorough, simple documentation. Each Indi DVD is supplied with printed hardware/software manuals and digital software and set up instructions.

The 8x+/8x- Indi DVD burners ship with Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator™ 6.1, plus Roxio PhotoSuite® Lite, and Roxio DVDMax. The external Indi DVD Multiformat burner includes all the software that’s supplied with the internal model, plus Roxio Toast Lite for Mac users.

The TDK internal 8x+/8x- Indi DVD Multiformat burner (model AID+880) will be shipping in January 2004 at an estimated street price of $249.99. The external 8x+/8x- Indi DVD Multiformat burner (model DED+880) will be shipping in February 2004 at an estimated street price of $329.99.
