Store ’n’ Go - Verbatim offers flexibility with new portable storage product

Store ’n’ Go - Verbatim offers flexibility with new portable storage product

General Interest Aug 7,2002 0

Speed, ease of use and portability are now the buzz words in the world of computer use and nowhere is that clearer than with data storage. Industry specialists Verbatim, part of Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, has introduced Store ‘n’ Go, a new and innovative product designed to allow up to 64 MB of data to be transferred onto a device so small that it can fit onto a keyring. Available now, Store ‘n’ Go is very easy to use. Simply plug it into any USB port on a laptop or desktop, PC or Mac and ‘drag and drop’ the files. No additional drivers or software* is required so it makes sharing information with friends or colleagues effortless. The days of having to save data onto tons of floppies are long gone!

Providing a sophisticated means of storing, transporting and protecting data, Store ‘n’ Go is a revolutionary hard drive that is small, lightweight and has no moving parts. It can store all kinds of data from business documents to corporate presentations, e-mails and music files; just the thing for the modern computer user.

As in every field of computer use, protecting data is an issue of utmost importance and portable devices are no exception. Verbatim has developed ‘KeySafe’ for precisely that reason. ‘KeySafe’ offers much more than the standard “password protected” area with users able to choose the size of the area that is hidden from view. This can vary from 1 per cent to almost 90 per cent of capacity. With such sophisticated means of data encryption, Key Safe reduces the risk of data loss. This, coupled with the fact that Store ‘n’ Go is the same size as a highlighter pen, makes it the ultimate tool for transporting information. Such flexibility allows the user to select a privacy zone for saving information that requires protection and the rest of the capacity for sharing files with others. Messages and prompts guide users through setting up KeySafe.

Store ‘n’ Go is available in both 32 and 64 MB versions and is supplied with a USB extension cable for ease of use.

SPECIFICATIONS:
Interface: USB version 1.1 compliant
Power: USB Bus-powered; no batteries required
Operating systems: Win 98, Win 2000, ME, XP, Mac 8.6, OS9 and above.
* No additional drivers required for Windows ME, XP, 2000 or Mac OS0. A separate driver disc is supplied with the product for users of Windows 98.
