IO-DATA announces 24x external USB2.0 recorder!

IO-Data announced today a new external portable CD-RW drive with the codename "CRWP-i24B/US2". The drive is expected to ship middle of November at the price of 27,800 Yen.

It supports 24x writing, 10x re-writing and 32x reading among with "BURN-Proof" and "FlexSS-BP" technologies. The connection interface is USB 2.0/1.1 and the top of the drive is absolutely transparent. The interesting is the adoption of a new technology called "Shock-BP" - developed from Sanyo. With this new technology the drive detects vibrations/impacts, discontinues recording and when stability returns, starts writing again! The dimensions of the drive are 138×173×33.2mm and the weight approximately 670g.
