Marantz Announces BD7004 Blu-ray Disc Player


Marantz plans to release the BD7004 high-end Blu-ray disc player in Japan by the end August at a suggested retail price of 99,750 Yen ($1,066).

The BD7004 player supports the BD-Live functions as well as DivX HD, AVCREC, and the AVCHD reproduction. It comes equipped with a "Dolby TrueHD" and "DTS-HD Master Audio" HD audio decoders and analogue 7.1 ch outputs.

The player is also offering HDMI 1080/24p direct output, Deep Color/ x.v.Color, uses a 297MHz/12bit video DAC and it is capable to upconvert DVD video content to HD resolution.

The supported disc formats include BD/DVD video, BD-R/RE(BDMV), DVD-R/RW, audio CD, CD-R/RW, MP3/WMA audio, and JPEG still pictures. An SD/SDHC card slot can be used to transfer files on the player and also download BD-Live contents.
