Meet The First 3D 180-inch LED Display

3D display company NewSight Co

The 180-inch display has a width of 3.84m and uses LEDs instead of pixels.

The display is based on Newsight's patented technology that supports creation and display of three dimensional images that are viewable without glasses. The NewSight parallax barrier technology allows the viewer to see the 3D image "naturally" in the way people are used to viewing normal 2D displays. The technology subdivides the LCD image into complex repeating segments that, when viewed and then integrated by human binocular vision, presents 3D views of scenes. The special parallax barrier is affixed to commercial-grade LCD displays in a precision assembly process.

The company claims that all viewers can enjoy the same high-quality 3D impression from their different viewing positions. The specific 180-inch display can be watched from about 5m away, but the optimal distance can be adjusted. The LEDs that have replaced the pixels as they are found in the LCD displays, have a warranty period of 20,000 hours.

The screen can generally play 3D content made for LCD displays. Standard 2D content can also play on the NewSight 3D display and can be interspersed with 3D content.

The company also said that it is possible to combine four displays and make a 360-inch 3D display.
