Sony ships its ne BDZ-A70 and BDZ-T90 Blu-ray recorders in Japan by the end of the month, both offering large storage capacities and supporting transfering of multimedia files on Walkman mobiles and the PSP.

BDZ-A70

New Blu-ray recorder is equipped with 320GB HDD. Recorded content can be transfered to specific Walkman mobile phones as well as to the Sony's PSP game device easily, by pressing a single button. "Dubbing 10", the technology that allows consumers in Japan to make up to 9 copies of a recorded digital TV broadcast is also included in the specifications list of the new BDZ-A70. Starting from June 2, the function will allow Japanese consumers to make up to 10 copies of a DVD that comntains terrestrial digital content. Copies require both a recorder that supports the new feature as well as usage of CPRM DVD-RW/-R disk (VR mode) and BD-RE/R (CPRM) media.

The device comes with an HDMI output (24p output x.v.color, TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio). It has also an ethernet connector as well as an i.LINK interface for easy connections with HDV/DV cameras.

BDZ-T90

The successor of the BDZ-T70 comes with a larger hard disk drive (500GB), it is capable of burning Dual layer BD-R and RE discs, has 2 digital TV tuners and 2 analog ones, and an HDMI output 1080p24.

Both BDZ-A70 and BDZ-T90 models will be available in Japan in April 30th, priced at approximately 170,000 Yen ($1660), according to Sony Japan.
