LiteOn announced today the release of the the fastest DVD Writer in the world: The 20X Super AllWrite LH-20A1P takes around 5 minutes to backup 4.7 GB data on a single layer 16X DVD+R or DVD-R media.

LiteOn claims that the new LH-20A1P drive is able to write at the 20x speed in selected DVD +R/-R media. The Taiwanese company pushes its hardware to the limits, offering the 20x recording speed as an extra feature in order to attract DVD recording enthusiasts.

LH-20A1P also supports the SMART-WRITE technology, which is already met in the company's previous DVD burners: Through this drive's self-learning function, LH-20A1P will automatically detect and decide the optimal write strategy of DVD recordable media ( DVD+R & DVD-R ) for the best write quality. The drive can support all of DVD formats: DVD+R/+RW, DVD-R/-RW, DVD-RAM. LH-20A1P is able to rewrite certified DVD-RAM media at 12X maximum, write DVD+R DL ( Double Layer ) media & DVD-R DL ( Dual Layer ) media at 8X maximum, rewrite High-Speed DVD+RW at 8X maximum, rewrite High-Speed DVD-RW at 6X maximum, and read DVD-ROM media at 16X maximum.

Being an Ultra-Speed CD-RW drive as well, the LH-20A1P can write CD-R media at 48X maximum, rewrite Ultra-Speed CD-RW media at 32X maximum, and read CD-ROM media at 48X maximum.

The Built-in SMART-BURN technology provides buffer-under-run-free function and media compatibility for high-speed writing DVD+R / DVD+RW / DVD-R / DVD-RW / CD-R / CD-RW media. Its SMART-X technology provides smooth & stable Audio CD / VCD / DVD playback and high-performance DAE / VCD / DVD data extraction.

The drive is expected on the market next month.
