Nichia and Moeller settled for Blue LED patents

Nichia Corporation announced today that it settled a patent lawsuit in Japan, which it had filed against Moeller Electric Limited.

In its complaint, Nichia alleged Moeller's infringement of three Japanese patents concerning blue LEDs. In the settlement discussion held outside the court, Moeller agreed to stop using the possibly infringing LEDs and buy from Nichia. Upon execution of the settlement agreement, Nichia dropped the lawsuit. Details of the settlement agreement is not disclosed.
