Optical Storage Nov 21,2005 0

New software for home user with DVD Video capture, authoring and burning, including data backup and audio editing. GEAR Software announced the release of GEAR Video 8.01, a multimedia creation tool for PC consumers who want to create and share multimedia content on CD or DVD. Priced at under $80.00, GEAR's new digital media creation software is an "all-in-one" music and video solution for consumers with camcorders, digital cameras, MP3 players, and webcams.

GEAR Video 8.01 compresses, creates and burns video, photo, and music projects using virtually any sound card and video card DVD or CD recorder, format or media brand. GEAR Video 8.01 automatically creates a menu using video thumbnails with advanced features for choosing frames and background for the menu. GEAR also creates multiple menus when capturing. If you have DVDs to copy, GEAR can do that too if the content is not copy-protected. Along with many video capabilities, GEAR's audio tools include the ability to rip tracks from audio CDs, save as uncompressed WAV files, or encode them to MP3, WMA, OGG, or MPEG Audio. CD audio discs are automatically recognized, and the artist and track titles are displayed. GEAR includes a a built in audio editor for customizing your audio tracks, too.

Pricing and Availability GEAR Video 8.01 is available at www.gearsoftware.com or from a variety of GEAR software resellers at a suggested retail price of $79.99. All GEAR Video 8.01 users will be entitled to a free Upgrade upon GEAR's next release. Existing GEAR owners are eligible for an Upgrade to GEAR Video 8.01 for $39.95.
