Panasonic Announces Compact Super Multi-format DVD Recorder


The new LF-P867CM is a portable DVD super-multi recorder that supports writing on both DVD± R DL media, and its weight is only 290g.

The drive will be put in the Japanese market on September, priced at 30,000 Yen (US $275).

The portable DVD super-multi drive can be connected to your PC or notebook through a USB 2.0 interface. Panasonic claims that it has achieved a weight reduction of 8% compared to the previous portable models while it also reduced its overall dimensions (135x135.6x14.8mm).



The basic specifications of the drive include 8x recording for DVD±R 5x for DVD-RAM, 4x for DVD±RW, 2.4x for DVD+R DL and 2x for DVD-R DL. The recorder is also able to write on CD-R at 24x and CD-RW at 10x. Note that the performance of the device is different when it is not connected to the provided AC adapter but it's only powered through the USB bus.
