Hitachi LG GSA-4167B Retails in Japan

The retail package of the LG GSA-4167B multi-DVD burner is currently shipped in Japan.

The ATAPI drive is sold for 7,980 Yen (60 Euros) in the Japanese market, and is also available in Europe online stores (bulk version) for 80-85 Euros.

Manufactured by Hitachi-LG the recorder supports the following writing speeds:

16x DVD±R (P-CAV)
6x DVD+R DL
4x DVD-R DL
8x DVD+RW
6x DVD-RW
5x DVD-RAM
48x CD-R
32x CD-RW

The adopted P-CAV recording strategy with 16x DVD±R media (7-16X CAV) results to an average speed of 11.92X. The first recording tests show that the drive writes a full DVD in 5:26 minutes.

LG Electronics Japan releases the drive in white (GSA-4167BK), black (GSA-4167BB) and silver (GSA-4167BS) versions.

The retail package also includes NERO Express 6 CD/DVD burning software, Nero InCD, PowerProducer 2 Gold DVD authoring software, and PowerDVD5 for DVD reproduction.

More information is available at LG Japan website.
