LaCie (Nouveau Marche:5431) starts the new year by announcing innovative new products and partnerships aimed at helping professionals and everyday people easily manage their digital lives.

Premiering at the Macworld Expo in San Francisco, new LaCie storage solutions range from a 2TB RAID subsystem for video pros to a unique direct-disc labeling technology on d2 DVD burners, or a real-time MPEG-1/2 encoder to a portable 40GB hard drive for direct playback of multimedia files on any standard TV, among others. Visit LaCie booth #1843 at Macworld Expo in San Francisco's Moscone Center from January 10-14 to catch a glimpse of new LaCie solutions.

"It's fun to see the faces light up at Macworld when people discover how far we have pushed the limits with bigger, faster, and more innovative products," says Scott Phillips, CEO of LaCie Limited USA. "LaCie will premiere several new digital storage tools in 2005 that will change the way people work and play with their computers. LaCie's affordable high-end solutions can adapt to fit any need, whether it's small to medium sized businesses, audio/video editors, graphics professionals, or home and entertainment use."

New LaCie solutions include:

LaCie Biggest F800: LaCie unveils a higher level of data protection with the new Biggest F800 RAID subsystem for professional use, offering secure storage for up to 2TB data. The 4-bay array supports RAID levels 0, 0+1, 5 and RAID 5+hot spare in a sturdy aluminum enclosure with FireWire 800 and USB 2.0 interfaces for use on PCs or Macs. Ideally suited for use with email, web servers and imaging systems, the Biggest F800 offers a new level of high-capacity performance at an affordable price. Available spring 2005.

LaCie blue eye pro: LaCie introduces a comprehensive calibration and profiling solution for the most demanding graphics professionals: the new LaCie blue eye pro automatic hardware calibration solution specially tuned to work with the LaCie 321 Monitor. Thanks to the monitor's unique DDC interface, blue eye pro software can adjust settings with a single click, automatically creating and activating an ICC profile that ensures consistent colors throughout the workflow. LaCie d2 DVD+/-RW Double Layer with LightScribe: LaCie and LightScribe are partnering to offer the first direct disc labeling drive for both Macs and PCs. Specially configured LaCie d2 DVD+/-RW Double Layer burners now offer the ability to burn precise, iridescent labels with desired text and graphics using the same laser that burns the data. This innovative LightScribe Direct Disc Labeling technology means people no longer have to use printers, permanent markers or adhesive labeling to develop and burn creative designs onto their CDs and DVDs. LaCie Ethernet Disk 1TB: LaCie boosts capacity of its Ethernet Disk to 1TB making it again the most affordable network storage solution of its size. Small and medium sized businesses will appreciate the easy to use shared hard drive.
