Pioneer announces two slim-line DVD recorders DVR-K04/14


Pioneer Australia announced today two new slim-line 12.4mm height DVD Recorders for OEM use with the codenames DVR-14/K04. Both drives support 8X DVD+/-R, 2.4X DL and...

* Pioneer's Superior Mechanism
Twin Printed Coil Actuator on Pick up: Industry leading 0.1g design allows for lightweight optical pick up, which in turn allows for high maneuverability and low power consuption.

* OPU Cooling Function: Built in temperature sensor monitors the cooling requirements of the pickup laser. When temperatures rise, the drive automatically stops writing operation for cooling, and restarts writing operation to maintain high media write quality and drive reliability.

* Stepping Motor: The use of a stepping motor allows for highly accurate and reliable sled drive operation, along with quiet seek operation.

* Precision Recording Technology
Smart Laser Driver: Write strategy control circuitry positioned in close proximity to the writing laser limits signal delay, allowing high quality recording at high speed.

* Liquid Crystal Tilt / Thickness Compensator: Provides accurate, reliable read / write performance with a variety of disc characteristics, even with irregularly curved or thick / thin media. This technology is also rffective in recording DVD+R double layer media.
