Strange issue, maybe removing the device under Windows Properties and reboot will fix the problem? Alternative try to install the device at another PC to see if the problem still exists

hi, i'm all confused....so i'll describe my situation and my goal...in hope that someone will help me out o.O
i flashed my nec3520 with the 3.22 fw from the first page:
i want to burn a iso of a ps2game i backed up previously....i'm using verbatim 16x DVD-R media
i read that DVD-ROM bitsetting is recommended for ps2 backups....and burning should be done with imgburn
so...i did that, assuming autobitsetting was gonna change the booktype automatically to DVD-ROM...
but..problem is, nero cdspeed shows booktype: DVD-R, therefore i assume ive done something wrong...or maybe skipped a step?
Help, anyone, please?

EDIT: nevermind, i just read an article 'bout why u can't change -R's booktype..but i'd be grateful if someone with ps2 backup experience could give me a tip or two..

NeXs you don't have to change your dvds booktype, i've burned ps2 games with dvd+r and dvd-r, both have worked perfectly. I used Alcohol 120% to rip/burn image of ps2 game. I assume you have a mod chip already installed on your ps2 right?

Hi friend! What is your exact problem with PS2 burns? I would suggest to burn at lower speeds (like 4x/6x) and use DVD-ROM booktype for +R media, this should solve your problems

tnx figured that out by trying ..worked like a charm (and yes i have a modchip) =)
i was just confused cause i read on several sources that dvd-rom bitsetting makes things more compatible...but on other sources that dvd-r is superiour to dvd+r when it comes to ps2 games.
i have yet to burn my DL copy of god of war...think i'm going for - again, thus no booktype changing...hope i won't end up with a 6$ coaster..

For all the info to flashing your 3520a visit http://www.cdrinfo.com/forum/tm.asp?m=93724, it really helps.

As far as not being able to rip many of Sony's Dvds, just get a program like AnyDvd, is decrypts everything and you get a free 21 day trial.

Hi friend! I would suggest using the latest available firmware for your drive, should work best (at least at the writing part)
