Well the Nero CD/DVD Speed 4.0 with PIE/PIF scanning is out, but the firmware for 3500 to do this still isn't. Initially they said "early April". Hello?

NEC "insists" on high quality. Perhaps they are still testing, as I'm sure they will "not" release anything until it is absolutely perfect.

No news about when NEC plans to officially release the PI/PIF firmware for the 3500 series...

I doubt this will ever be released.
So many new drives from NEC already, guess they just stop support.....

What about this 2.R8 firmware (dated 2005-03-08) that you can find now in Liggy's pages:

2.R8 (with the same date of release) was preciseley the firmware number used
for the first publication of a PIE/PIF scan made with a Nec 3500,
