Google is introducing a new platform to create groups and share everything from articles and images to YouTube videos and messages -- meet Google Spaces. The service is launching in mobile and desktop web versions, as well as iOS and Android apps. It allows you to create 'Spaces' for any topic you like and invite friends to join via email or your preferred messaging tool. With Google Search and YouTube built in, you can find, share, and view stuff without ever switching apps. It's a solution that not only brings together a number of Google's offerings into one location, but also includes a chat option.

In terms of interface, Spaces looks partly like your everyday messaging app, but also sees some influence from Google+.
