Viltrox announced its new AF 35mm F1.4 Pro FE/Z, a flagship lens designed for professional photographers and videographers. The lens delivers exceptional resolving power and edge-to-edge sharpness, preserving vivid textures and lifelike detail even under close inspection, heavy cropping, or large-scale enlargement.
Sharp Shots From Edge to Edge, Even Wide Open The AF 35mm F1.4 Pro FE/Z combines a classic focal length with a professional-grade optical design featuring 16 elements in 11 groups; it’s capable of maintaining edge-to-edge sharpness even at its maximum F1.4 aperture.

Excellent distortion control helps render straight lines and natural architectural forms across the frame, which is especially valuable in wide-angle photography, where barrel distortion can make buildings, interiors, and objects near the edges of the frame appear curved or stretched. The specialized glass addresses common optical challenges:

2 UA (Ultra-Precision Aspherical) elements help reduce “onion-ring” bokeh, rendering backgrounds smoothly and naturally.
3 ED elements effectively correct axial chromatic aberration, producing crisp images with minimal color fringing.
4 HR elements balance portability with optical performance.

A Fast Lens That Can Get Up Close and Personal
Its F1.4 aperture enables a very shallow DoF while keeping subjects crisp and well separated from the background. Its eleven aperture blades create smooth, rounded bokeh highlights for a softer, more natural look. With a minimum focusing distance of just 0.3m, photographers can get closer to their subjects for striking close-ups with fine detail, while maintaining clear separation from the rich background blur.

Viltrox HyperVCM Focus System
The Viltrox HyperVCM Focus System is driven by high-thrust voice coil motors for swift, smooth, precise and ultra-quiet autofocusing. Paired with accurate face and eye detection, the lens delivers rapid, responsive tracking in dynamic shooting scenarios. Focus breathing is minimized to ensure smooth focus transitions during videography, while also supporting precise focus stacking for photography.

Built for All Conditions
The weather-sealed construction features a scratch- and wear-resistant matte black finish, complemented by high-grade rubber seals that help protect against dust, splashes, and moisture, helping ensure durability even in challenging outdoor environments. The front element incorporates a water- and smudge-resistant coating that helps prevent droplets and fingerprints from interfering with the shot while making the lens easier to clean.

A Complete F1.4 Trio for Every Perspective
The Viltrox Pro Series embodies the brand’s premium approach to prime lenses, combining advanced optical performance, fast apertures and refined construction with reliable autofocus and intuitive handling. Designed for photographers that demand superb image quality and a sophisticated shooting experience, the series brings together performance and everyday practicality, making it ideal for serious, long-term use.

With the introduction of the AF 35mm F1.4 Pro, the full-frame lineup now offers a complete trio of F1.4 prime lenses at 35mm, 50mm, and 85mm. The 35mm brings expansive environmental context to the frame, the 50mm delivers a natural, true-to-eye perspective, and the 85mm is made for portraits and expressive detail. Together, they cover three classic focal lengths within one cohesive system, with the entire set priced under US$2,000.
