The NX7600GT is based off of Nvidia's mid-range GeForce 7600GT GPU, which is lower than the 7600 but above the 7300 in their product line. The 7600GT features 12 pixel pipelines, 5 vertex shaders, and sports 256MB of GDDR3 memory clocked at 750MHz (1450MHz DDR). The GPU comes in at 580MHz. Like most other vendors, both of these clockspeeds are higher than Nvidia's reference design, 20MHz for the GPU and 50MHz for the memory. We were able to overclock it to a core of 634MHz and memory speeds of 807MHz. An increase of 45MHz in the GPU core and 84MHz in the memory. A great overclock for a card of this nature but keep in mind overclocking your card will put off much more heat and could influence system stability. We didn't run into any stability problems though at this clockspeed.

MSI has just released its NX7900GT-VT256E-HD which is HDCP compatible - this is the first HDCP-enabled PCI Express x16 videocard from that company. The MSI NX7900GT-VT2D256E-HD videocard is backed up by 256MB of high speed GDDR3 memory. The videocard supports a whole host of TV output options including S-Video, Composite, Component output (Y, Pb, Pr) and the NX7900GT-VT2D256E-HD is also HDMI compatible if a DVI-to-HDMI cable is used. The videocard supports video input as well, which truely makes the MSI NX7900GT-VT256E-HD one of the best multimedia cards around on paper.

We've been able to get our hands on one of the first Socket-AM2 platforms to use an ATI chipset, MSI's K9A Platinum. This board utilizes the ATI Radeon Xpress 3200 Crossfire chipset for Socket-AM2, and also is one of the first platforms on the market to use ATI's new SB600 Southbridge, the long-awaited replacement for their aging SB450 which was featured on several Socket-939 Crossfire motherboards. Let's take a look at what ATI and MSI were able to cook up for AMD's new shiny (and now fairly inexpensive) Socket-AM2 processors.

With a retail price of $158 CDN ($140 USD, £75GBP), MSI have put together a solid upper level gaming platform which can accommodate up to 8GB of PC2-6400 DDR2-800 memory along side any Socket AM2 AMD Athlon64/X2/FX and Sempron processor. The four DDR2 240-pin memory slots (DIMMs) can supply a maximum of 2.45V - handy for overclockers looking to push the boundary. The K9N SLI's six Serial ATA II ports can operate at 3 Gb/s bandwidth and support RAID modes 0, 1, 0+1 and 5 via nVIDIA's MediaShield storage technology. Gone are the days of two IDE channels, which is rather unfortunate, and on the MSI K9N SLI Platinum, the nForce 570 SLI chipset limits us to just one. Bummer.

MSI refreshes their Socket AM2 lineup with a new V-Class budget motherboard. The K9NU Neo may have limited features, but not necessarily limited functionality. A perfect build for a casual home PC, its nForce 500-class performance will also give budget gamers a reason to smile.

The Radeon X1800 GTO may find itself undercut by the cheaper GeForce 7600 GT now but with rumors circulating of a possible price adjustment, it could well get back into the game. So for those anticipating such a scenario, we have MSI's take on ATI's latest mid-range card. Read on...

The MSI K8N Diamond Plus is one of the few nForce4 SLI x16 motherboards that is readily available, and it's a very sweet little slab of PCB. At first glance the MSI K8N Diamond Plus looks like a pretty regular nVidia nForce4 SLI x16 motherboard... it support SLI, has a pile of onboard features, it even has that somewhat alluring 'new motherboard smell' that we reviewers grow quite fond of. Anyhow, if you take a moment and look closely at the shot of the board on the left, you just might notice something that shouldn't be there. Look right next to the PCI Express x4 slot, the yellow one...

At 1GB it matches the iPod shuffle's capacity but the main difference is that it offers a display, the lack of one being the biggest criticisms of the iPod shuffle. Not only that the display is colour. But not only can the
Digi Player display photos, but it can also play video. It handles both MP3 and WMA, sports an FM radio and a microphone. Basically then, the MSI Digi Player 600 slays that iPod shuffle for features, yet costs £10 less. So why wouldn't I touch it with a barge pole? Let me explain...

History seems to be repeating itself as the GeForce 7600 GT is poised to duplicate the successful GeForce 6600 GT. With the mid-range market settling down after the initial flurry of launches, this is the time to compare vendors and not GPUs. Here then is our take on the MSI NX7600GT-T2D256E...

Today, we have the younger sibling of that card- the 7900GT and this one's by MSI. The 7900GT is basically lower clocked version of the GTX with the core running at 450MHz and 256MB of memory at 660MHz. The number of pixel and vertex shaders remain unchanged so a good overclocker should be able to reach close to the GTX in terms of performance while the pricing for this one starts at $249...

The GeForce 7900 GT has swiftly become a favorite among enthusiasts, based on how quickly they've been selling out the moment they reach store shelves. As one of the biggest vendors around, MSI has its retail version ready immediately at launch and this was our experience. Read on...

The MSI NX7300GS-TD256E videocard is pretty compact as PCI Express graphics cards go, measuring 18 x 5.5 cm in size. The low height could make it handy in mini cases, too bad MSI did not include a half-height PCI bracket in the package as well. The GeForce 7300GS GPU will snatch a bit of system memory for its own use by design, but the MSI NX7300GS still comes with 256MB of onboard DDR-2 memory for its own use...

Featuring the same G73 core found in the GeForce 7600 GT, the GS version is basically a reduced version of the GT, adhering to the "build once, reuse in many" principle. The core has been clocked slower at 400MHz and it uses cheaper DDR2 memory, hence the RAM is clocked at a modest 800MHz DDR. More importantly, the standard vanilla GeForce 7600 GS in the retail market has been equipped with a passive cooler. That seems to indicate that NVIDIA intends the GeForce 7600 GS to play a starring role in systems that have low noise tolerance, like media center PCs. Furthermore, NVIDIA emphasizes the PureVideo support present in the GeForce 7600 GS and backs it with new drivers that add support for high definition H.264 hardware decode acceleration on GeForce 6 and 7 series GPUs, making it even more desirable for media center PCs...

MSI's first CrossFire motherboard for the AMD platform isn't some overpriced enthusiast monster. In fact, this little baby is priced so reasonably, it may have slipped the notice of many gamers. Looking for native multi-GPU without the fluff? Then you need to read this review...

Just when you thought that most graphics card vendors have all moved to the newer GeForce 7 series, MSI launches a spanking new GeForce 6600 DDR2 card which looks like a million dollars, with its golden trimmings on a black PCB. But does it have substance beneath all that MSI style? Read on to find out...
