Antec makes some of the best PC cases and power supplies available today. As far as cases go their Performance One series has been at hit. We have seen the P150, P160, P180, and P182 cases. Now it's time for the "Big Boy" the P190. The P190 combines 2 Antec power supplies with the P190 chassis giving you an all-in-one powerful system. This is the first time we have seen a dual-power supply design so it will be interesting to see how it works. Let's see what the P190 has in store for us!

The recently released P190 will immediately take its' place at the top of the hill in the Antec stable. The P190 is an upscale version of the P180 series of cases that we at Pro-Clockers started reviewing many months ago. What the P190 brings to the table that the P180 did not is a set of two power supplies and a huge cooling fan. Is there more to this unit? Let's see if we can find out.

The power that is default to the case is also massive, just like the case. With 1200-watts to make use of and enough connectors to jump start three rigs besides your own, you should not ever have to fear about not having enough juice to get the job done. In the event that this just isn't enough power for you, the dual mounts for the power supplies will also allow you to install an industry standard PSU of your liking. Just make sure of length measurements before your purchase. Another feature that we have covered is the soundproofing material used in this case. This material is used on both side panels and is meant to help keep the noise from escaping to the outside world. While this isn't a totally silent enclosure, the amount of noise is certainly minimal when considering the amount of airflow being moved around. With fans on the LOW setting, I can barely hear them running. Even with all fans set to HIGH, the noise is far less than the noise made from the high-end graphics cards being sold today.

Cost is also an obvious factor and with the Antec P190 costing around $355 in the US, or £230 in the UK it's also one of the most expensive cases we've had a look at in a long, long while. For this price we'd really expect something special though and, while the Antec P190 looks good on paper, it's let down by a number of the decisions that Antec made. Those reasons mean that it falls just short of the standard set by the awesome P182. Unless you're made of money and can afford to buy this rig and experiment with different heatsinks for a bit then the P182 is a much safer choice for most users, though there's no doubt that the P190 will appeal to some thanks to the bragging rights it carries with it.

At Channel Expo I had the privilege of being stabbed with a case panel by their rep showing me their new P190 case. Building on the success of the P180 range, this case now has 2 140mm fans, 2 120mm fans and an Antec Big Boy 200mm fan slapped on the side. If the box is anything to go by, this case is big?
