Kingwin has recently decided to join the ranks of other companies which have branched their product line into the power supply unit industry. More know for their very effective HDT Heatpipe Direct Touch coolers, Kingwin is also insistent that their PSU line be just as beneficial to the hardware enthusiast. Overclockers and gamers will most likely enjoy the impressive nickel-finished appearance, while system builders and casual users will appreciate the quality build into this power supply. Benchmark Review load tests the Kingwin Mach 1 ABT-800MA1S 800W Modular PSU for AC power ripple and DC voltage regulation.

Kingwin, aka KWI Technology Inc, has been around since 1992, which makes them one of the oldest aftermarket hardware companies in the industry. They started out making CPU coolers and external HDD racks, and now are into liquid cooling, cases, high performance air cooling, power supplies and some pretty innovative storage solutions. They pioneered the use of aluminum in external storage enclosures, which led the way for its use in cases.

Kingwin has a very solid performer here. Modular cabling, near silent running, and solid voltages all make for a winning combination. I liked the attention to detail, which is rare in the PSU market at this price point. The finish is flawless, the modular cabling is solid, without that sloppy feeling plastic connectors can give.

When it comes to choosing a PSU there are many manufacturers to choose from, who all claim to have the ideal power solution for your high powered system. Post people won't bother searching around and will go for a tried and tested brand or the most well known one. Today I have with me a PSU from Kingwin who might not be the biggest and baddest company out they are trying to make a big splash with their latest range of PSUs aimed at gamers and enthusiasts alike. Let's see how their 800w Mach1 fares.

Kingwin is one manufacturer that recognizes that performance is important, but individuality is high on the list of desired features with many computer enthusiasts. Most of the products they manufacture are very eye-catching, and this is an understatement when looking at their new Mach 1 800W Power Supply, model number ABT-800MA1S. This unit is rated for 800W continuous output, has rather unique modular cables, and has many blue lights throughout.
