Aliens have landed at The Tech Zone. Alienware , arguably the most familiar name in the family of boutique system builders, has provided us with our first look at one of their desktop gaming rigs. The Alienware Area-51 7500 is the workhorse system in Alienware's line of desktop computers. The term workhorse is only used insofar as the unit is the base model desktop. This in no way makes it any less capable then any of the other 3 desktops in Alienware's stable.

When you think of hardcore gaming machines Alienware comes to mind. They make some of the best systems for serious gamers who are willing to spend the money to get the best gaming performance possible. Today we will be looking at Alienware's Area-51 7500 desktop system that features an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 CPU, 2 728MB NVIDIA GeFoce 8800 GTX video cards in SLI, and 2GB of memory all inside of a very sleek looking case. Let's take a look...

Perhaps one of the most recognizable name brands in the boutique OEM system market, Alienware's built a reputation on their trademark alien-themed cases with high end components under the hood. The Area-51 has been a staple in their lineup, and today HardwareLogic abducts a build for our own autopsy. Will we uncover out-of-this-world performance, or are these rigs better left in outer space?

The system that I am reviewing has just about everything that you can get on an Alienware Area-51 7500 desktop save a second 8800 GTX for SLI and the PhysX card that is of questionable value anyway. The CPU in this rig is the beastly Intel GX6700 Core 2 Quad Extreme edition that I run in one of my test machines which is the fastest quad core CPU around right now.
