When it arrived I had no idea what to expect, and even less of an idea about its abilities. The first mouse called the "3D Game O" that I saw a few months ago left such a good impression; so it may be that I am slightly bias. Once I got over the strange presentation, I took a look at what was inside the box. The mouse itself is immediately conspicuous not only because of the many colors, but that it is completely different from any other mouse you have ever seen.

Mice are a critical, yet lower cost component of your high performance PC. A cheap $9.99 mouse might not be able to get you very far in your quest to become the champion of your favorite game. Sandio shipped us their new 3D Game O' Mouse. Quite the mouthful, huh? I'm not quite sure what the "O'" is in there for. Product naming aside, Sandio is promoting the mouse as innovative. By allowing the user to manipulate the mouse with additional four-way HAT switches located within easy reach, the mouse can simulate a full six degrees of freedom - you'll be able to move throughout 3D space fluidly. It sounds interesting, but how well will I be able to move through space? Will it give me an edge in games? Will 3D applications, like Google Earth and Doom, and 2D arenas, like Photoshop and Warcraft III, be improved by the 6DOF?

The 3D Game O' is with out a doubt a step above most gaming mice on the market. It will take a bit of getting used to with the button layout, but a determined gamer will find it to be a valuable resource. I continue to read cases where a gaming mouse is dinged points if falls in the $75-100 price range, however I disagree with this as it has become the norm to spend this amount for a good quality, laser gaming mouse. The 3D Game O' sports a suggested retail cost of $79.99 and earns its keep. Equipped with the versatility of multiple dpi setting that are effortlessly changed, even verbally confirmed the 3D Game O' has much to offer. Add in the easily configurable 3d buttons and Sandio has successfully made their mark in the gaming community.
