It is time for another power supply review and the unit we are reviewing today is the X Spice Croon 850 BF Power Supply. If you are curious what the BF in the name means, it refers to the big 135mm fan used on the Croon 850. This power supply has a number of interesting features such as adjustable rail voltages. (Notice: we do not recommend that you remove the cover from this or nay power supply since the voltage inside can kill you.) The CROON BF series comes with an automatic input voltage selector of 100V?240V for universal application. All connecting cables are cable sleeved. The CROON BF series is the perfect choice for exceptionally silent, energy-saving and environmentally friendly high performance PC systems.

The X-Spice Kira is a SFF (small Form Factor) power supply which would be an ideal choice for those looking for a mid-range power supply to place in their HTPC or other small project. The power supply is SLI compatable and is extremely quiet during use.

X-Spice is a newcomer to the shores of North America, and they have shared their Kira series 630 watt power supply with me to see how it does. Come on in... you're not going to want to miss this one.

But today we are here to discuss X-Spice's new model lineup entitled the Kira. The Kira is aimed at the gamer and small enclosure user at the same time. How it is able to do this you may ask. Well, you will have to read more of the article ahead. But, we can already tell you that the unit is cooled by an industry standard 120 cm cooling fan and has four independent 12 volt rails. And if that is not enough, how about an advertised 83 % efficiency rating? Yeah, we figured that would draw your attention.

Even though X-Spice is not a very well known brand name, they achieved what nobody else could do: building an extremely quiet power supply that is stable and affordable. We are testing the 530W model today and found that it could easily handle a Quad CrossFireX rig, and produced less fan noise under load than most other power supplies in idle.

This is the first product I have reviewed from X Spice and I must say that it has made me look forward to receiving further product samples from them. The Croon BF 700 is solidly built and performs well.
