The Philips 190G6 is a unique and outstanding product that covers all bases very well from aesthetics through to performance and practicality. There aren?t many fast response-rate LCD panels out there that can boast the level of connectivity to the various input sources and include a TV tuner as well as delivering the toe-curlingly fantastic audio performance that this beast offers. I?d highly recommend it to people in small apartments as a single screen solution, PC users that like playing console games or simply anybody that wants a top notch LCD display.

We have no argument with the idea of Philips leaving one of its older models on shelves at a reduced price; we're all in favour of anything that lets people get their hands on an HD Ready TV more cheaply. But the 32PF5520D simply asks you to make more compromises with connectivity, pictures and sound than we feel comfortable with, even at £800...

So far our pre-World Cup HDTV reviewing exploits have focussed on pretty large screens. Which makes sense given that high definition pictures really come into their dazzling own the bigger the screen you watch them on. But we think it's time we made it clear that HD can also look gobsmackingly good on a smaller 'second room' TV, like this 20in HD Ready model from Philips. After all, what could be cooler than having HD not just in your living room, but also in your bedroom, study and/or kitchen? Read on...

With LCD prices plummeting faster than an overweight skydiver, there's no denying that at £2,600, Philips 37PF9830 seems a bit on the expensive side. After all, you can get 37in LCD TVs elsewhere for as little as £1,300. But then to be fair, the 37PF9830 is no ordinary 37in LCD TV. For starters, there's the way it looks. With its black inner frame, slick silver 'middle' frame and further black outer frame, it's strikingly pretty. Its svelte frame hides a couple of groovy design tricks, too. First, the seemingly plain left and right sides of the TV's fascia are in fact stereo speakers. You can't see them because they use NXT flat panel speaker technology, but we assure you they're there. Fancy...

Philips' WACS700/05 music system is truly multi-room hi-fi for the wireless generation. It consists of a base station with a CD player and 40GB hard drive built in, plus a satellite unit, which receives and plays back music streamed wirelessly from the base station via built-in 802.11g adapters in each unit. In fact you can connect up to five satellite systems to the WACS700/05 base station and play different music simultaneously on each one - an impressive feat. Oh, and each unit has an FM tuner built in too...
