The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FP8 is a credit card-sized ultra-compact point and shoot camera that packs a surprising number of features. Thanks to its size and compact nature it looks very stylish and will fit easily into your pockets as well, making it an excellent travel companion.
The FP8 is slim and lightweight thanks to its aluminum body. A retracting internal lens with folding optics means that the front is flat. There?s a large 2..7 inch LED screen at the back and blue-lit buttons on the side of the screen for navigation controls. The camera is quick to start up and if you?ve owned a Lumix before, you?ll be very comfortable with the stable of features. These include a simple camera mode, a picture viewer mode, a movie mode and a controls mode where you can mess around with the camera?s configuration and set it for daytime shots or nighttime shots, configure pixel size, etc.

Today we are checking out the Panasonic Lumix L10 DSLR camera. This camera is aimed at the beginner DSLR owner and is not what most would consider cheap. Overall the Lumix L10 works very well and is easy to use for the beginner the camera is aimed at. The biggest problem with the Lumix L10 is the price. The kit I am reviewing here retails for around $1100. You can get the Nikon D80 for around the same price and in my option it is a much better camera. If the Lumix L10 was a few hundred bucks cheaper it would be a clear winner. As it is I suggest you shop around a bit, it's not that the Lumix L10 is a bad camera, it's actually quite good. The price is just too high in my opinion.

Panasonic's latest Skype phone, the KX-WP1050E, may be a little steep in price, but would save you a substantial amount on overseas calls via Voice-over-IP (VoIP).

These days where you can find a Sony DVD player with HDMI output costing USD 60 at Best Buy you may wonder why someone in his (or her) right mind would buy a USD 100 player from Panasonic. The answer is simple: Panasonic DVD-S53 can play not only Divx files a feature somewhat easy to find on players from major brands but also MPEG4 files. If you have a lot of home videos stored under these formats in your PC this feature gives you the opportunity to burn all your videos directly to DVD-ROM as regular files and play them on your TV, without the need to convert them to DVD-Video format first, process that takes an eternity.

Under normal circumstances, a 2.1-channel system for over £450 would be considered expensive, but with so many unusual value-adding features on board the SC-PTX7 that amount of cash feels strangely justified, especially if you don't have the space (or permission) to install a full 5.1 setup.
