Remember when Bluetooth came out? No one bothered to care for a
long time until an explosion happened a few years ago. We believe that
Wireless USB is in the same boat. The technology solves a problem that
people need; the ability to connect peripherals to their computer
without a wire. It is just that we are suffering on the implementation
and faced without market saturation, the Wireless USB field seems to be
stagnating. There are glimmers of hope and Imation brings the first
Wireless USB enclosure to the table.

With SSDs becoming more popular and with newer operating systems
finally offering native support, it is only natural that more and more
companies would be stepping into the ring with products. Today,
HardwareLogic has the Imation M-Class 128GB SSD for review, and is one
of Imation's many entries into the SSD market.

The upgrade kit bundled with this drive will make the process of migrating from your old drive simple, whether the system is a laptop or a desktop. With the inclusion of the convenient USB enclosure and the bootable Acronis drive management software, I was able to make the move from a hard drive to the Imation SSD in under 20 minutes on my laptop.

Intel's Atom is the world's smallest processor, built with the world's smallest transistors. Iomega's Atom is probably the smallest Flash memory drive. The race for the smallest Flash memory stick is most definitely on. Imation is hot on Super Talent's tail with the Atom Flash Drive, a miniscule device designed for those craving the latest gizmos.

From the angle of data backup this device is definitely a success. Its only drawback is higher cartridge prices. But it has significant advantages: mechanic reliability of cartridges and storage drives, and high cartridge capacities.

The Imation USB 2.0 Micro Hard Drive certainly has an interesting shape; it is modeled after a padlock with a flexible USB connector acting as a clasp. The cable locks firmly into position, and you can only release it by sliding the latch. A 4" USB cable is tethered to the 1.8 oz. mini drive, and is long enough to reach any crowded USB hub or the back of an iMac. Though, none of us would mind if Imation throws in a USB extension cable at any length...
