"Gelid has a worthy product in the Tranquillo, especially for a relatively new company. The Tranquillo easily bests the performance of the OEM cooler while being noticeably quieter, even at full speed. The design doesn't provide any board-cooling options though, but is relatively easy to install."

Arctic Silver 5 has long been hailed as the king of thermal compounds but it seems the king is finally dead. The GELID GC-1 trumps the AS5 in a couple of aspects. Letting the temperatures speak for themselves, the GC-1 does a much better job at conducting heat (or maybe, not impeding it as much). There is a caveat here, however, as the "delta" temperatures were somewhat close. With that said, the GC-1 did have a smaller "delta" between the idle and load temperatures in every test.

To kick off things here at Verdis Reviews, we are going to start with the GELID WING 12 UV Blue case fan. With so many system fans on the market, manufacturers have to come up with new and innovative ideas in order to sell their latest products. In this particular instance GELID Solutions, a relatively new company, have made a real effort to jazz this fan up: UV light, fan removal, patented nanoflux bearings and tool-less installation. All of these features should help to make this fan stand out from the crowd. Let?s see whether it can achieve just this?

With its four heatpipes and excellent design, the performance is great and it really is silent! I especially liked the fact that the base had fins of its own; this way, not everything is dependent on the heatpipes. Installation was extremely easy due to the push-pin type mounting technique. Also, the cooler's low weight and small size made it a pleasure to work with.

The latest trend in heatsink design has been to add more heatpipes, more fins, and make everything wider and taller. GELID's Silent Spirit flips this concept on its side with a small heatsink with an unusual design and unique fin shape. With a 100mm fan spinning on average around 1600RPM, 46 max CFM, and only 370g of material, the Gelid Silent Spirit CPU Cooler hopes to pack a lot of punch in a very light frame. It weighs less than half of the popular Thermalright Ultra 120, clears every motherboard I could mount it to, and is silent to boot...

GELID Solutions was born after several key players left the company Arctic Cooling and came together to form GELID. With the high quality of products produced by Arctic Cooling, let?s hope that the standard is matching with this new brand. The CPU Cooler up today for review here at Tech-Reviews is the GELID Silent Spirit. Time to find out how well the Spirit competes?

Powerhouse CPU coolers may be all the rage these days in the quest for performance supremacy, but there is a distinct need and interest in the market for smaller and more compact coolers that can still get the job done effectively and inexpensively. And that is part of the key distinction here, as quality products that are affordable are a rather rare breed. On the test bench today is the Gelid Silent Spirit, a smaller CPU cooler that comes from two industry veterans that have launched their own company and new lineup.

This time around, we are looking at the GELID Silent Sprit, the latest of GELID's products to surface. This coolers small footprint and lower clearance makes it a good candidate for HTPC's and m-ATX users. With the 90mm fan that comes supplied with the Silent Spirit, I would expect this cooler to hold its own against the rest of the group. While I would lay money on the fact that this cooler isn't designed with the overclocker in mind, here at TweakTown we pull no punches when testing our coolers; they all get equal abuse in our testing. With that being said, I think it's about time to get a look at the Silent Spirit and strap it to the test rig and see just how well GELID does.
