...ultimately though, the decision comes down to price. The XFX is a slightly more appealing bundle, but if you've already got Far Cry the only issue is the VIVO support. If you want to be able to capture via your card then this is then the one to go for. For most though a high end gaming card is just about playing games, and at this the AOpen is a very solid choice though only £16 cheaper than the VIVO'd XFX at current prices. Remember though, that you'll have to budget for a decent high resolution monitor as well to have any chance of getting the most from a 7800 GTX card...

I was expecting a lot from the Nouveau, since AOpen definitely knows how to make good components and peripherals. Unfortunately this case suffers from some niggley design issues, while the plastic fascia makes it feel cheaper than the £133 price tag would suggest...

Although it's not perfect I like the AOpen XC Cube AV EA65-IIa 2.0. It has a lot on offer especially if you're looking for an entertainment device. AOpen need to supply the TV-out card as part of the package as without it you can't connect it to most consumer displays which defeats its purpose...

The AOpen i915Pa-PLF motherboard is a socket 775 Intel Pentium 4 solution designed for mainstream users getting ready to upgrade a little of everything. Obviously based on the Intel 915P chipset, this blackened-PCB motherboard supports current 800/533MHz FSB Socket 775 CPUs (Celeron or Pentium 4), and requires a PCI-Express compatible video card. AGP videocards are not supported at all.

This motherboard comes with everything most users would ever need, peripherals like 5.1 audio, an additional Serial ATA/RAID controller, a Gigabit network card and IEEE 1394. If you find the board is missing something, there are five PCI slots for your expansion needs. We were also pleased to see that AOpen includes a full (90 day subscription) copy of Norton Anti-Virus 2004 with the board.

We were generally pleased by the AOpen Silent Power AO400-12AHN power supply. AOpen has a good reputation for producing quality products, and this looks like another one. The Silent Power is blessed with an extremely attractive lighted 120mm cooling fan, which certainly added to the overall effect. The included fan control knob seems like an afterthought, and doesn't have any significant effect on the already minimal noise created by the fan. The electrical performance of the power supply was also good overall. Highly recommended!
