Hey all - just wondering if anyone using winAVI to convert mpegs and avi's to DVD formatted files has had this same issue: On more than one occasion after converting an avi or mpeg file to DVD format and then burning that supposedly converted DVD-ready file to a DVD -R disc, the disc refuses to play in my home entertainment commercial DVD player. The letters PAL come up in the DVD units' display. I don't know much about PAL other than that PAL is one standard video tape format and NTSC is the other. Does anyone know why is this happening? Is there something I need to know about the source file being converted? The conversion process completes successfully, I go straight to the burn and that completes successfully, and then the DVD doesn't end up playing. I hate to keep wasting DVD disc's creating files that will not play on my commercial DVD player. Sincere thanks in advance for any advice anyone might provide! DGM
