hi, i would like to know if the latest ATAPI models (e.g., 16x/40x or 16x/48x) of the following brands of DVD drives would work with clonecd, in particular subchannel reading of both data and audio:

1) Pioneer
2) Toshiba
3) Samsung
4) LG
5) Liteon
6) Panasonic

if someone has any of the above drives please reply to this thread, also if you can give the model of your drive it would be great too. lastly do you know if your drive can be patched to region-free.

thanks a lot

toshiba sdm1502 f/w 1012 works great reads sd2 in less than 5 min.

make sure you DONT GET f/w 1002 as it cant be flashed and therefore,
will never do region free.

If someone on this board could tell me where i can get my hands on a Toshiba sd-m 1502 in Norway or Sweden i would much apreciate it. I tried to make a backup of Max Payne using my Creativ 5X DVD and my Plex 24/10/40A. But i had to download a pach from Gamecopyworld to make it run. And that bugs me alitle.

So any answers to my request would be much apreciated.

Can anyone with a Pioneer DVD drive - please tell me if it works well with clonecd please - i.e., whether it can do RAW+96 reading and subchannel reading for both audio and data.
in particular:
Pioneer DVD-106S (16x dvd 40x cdrom Slot Loading ATA66)
Pioneer DVD-116 (16x dvd 40x CDROM tray loading ATA66)
thanks

i understand that a patched firmware is needed to remove the region lock. but i doubt if it has anything to do with clonecd compatibility though - i've heard anecdotal evidence that this pioneer drive does work with clonecd - but i will confirm that with clonecd support team too. in the meantime, if you have this drive and finds that it works with clonecd subchannel, please post here.

I have the 106s and clone reports that it does not read 96 byte sub-channell data, just use the burner to read it instead.

hi, I want to read subchannel data because I want to backup my securom games. I understand that SD2 can't be copied with 12101B - but by the way - what about if I use betablocker - how good is it -? it is a shame that the last long thread on betablocker was lost

thanks

A quote from CDR-INFO:
____________________________________________
"The LiteOn LTD163 supports reading of SubChannel data from both Data and Audio tracks, and very fast, according to our tests."
___________________________________________

It's also an excellent sd1/sd2 reader.
