gcc 4240n works well with roxio 5.x and i think that programs suplies some drive for the burner. anyway for me works well - have no problems, beside the max speed (10!)

I'm using it too.. a combo drive...

i have no problem wif reading cds that i had burn earlier using my liteon..
well gipo. Roxio is a cd creator software something like nero...
as nero doesnt support this weird burner.. haf no choice to stick wif this easy cd creator software..

Brotherjoe,
you're right, that weird burner is a cooproduction of hitachi and lg, and the laptop's the same too. anyway, after 2 months i've done it to burn the cd with the max speed. not so bad :-))) and, for me nero works better with that burner than roxio.

I was just wondering how you managed to get the burner working at its full speed, am i right in thinking it is a 24X burner? or is it just a 10X burner which is what it always seems to default to?

brotherjoe,

i'm using a dell computer with gcc-4240n and when i've bought it i had already roxio softwere preinstalled and the burner uses that drivers, so i think it's better if you find roxio stuff (min.5.xxx as lower versions do not support the driver) and later it will work well, at least mine does.

good luck,
przemek

Thaks for the help... Anyway.. I manages to get the nero serial key for dell.. Got it from my friend.. It works fine... Actually i prefer to use nero than roxio.. coz nero have more option and control on my burner compare to roxio...
