Hi all, I just installed the drive into an external Firewire/USB 2.0 case and plugged it in. My powerbook recognizes it but the firmware is only 1.10 and I know it is up to 1.18. I've been searching everywhere around the net using google and and even through dealmac.com for info on the update. I only ever find the MS Windows or Linux versions of the update. Even on the freaking Pioneer site. Essentially, I have two questions:

1. Where do I get the Mac version of the firmware update?

2. How do I install the firmware update?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Looks like you might need to use DVRFlash. I don't have a Pioneer drive myself but I'm sure there are people here who have as well as used the hacked firmwares on that page too. Just scroll up for the rest of the info on the page.

Of course the main RPC1 page shows that there is a MacOSX flasher...that one is probably a stock Pioneer firmware with an OSX-compatible flasher built-in. Don't know much about OSX stuff either so YMMV...

Also make sure that your drive is a real Pioneer DVR-108 and not a re-badged OEM one from Sony, Medion, etc.
