could someone please help? - I recently bought a Pc with a dvd writer (TS-H552b). I have 12 dvd discs, the drive reads all but 1, the one I need(great fun).

does anyone know where or what FIRMWARE i need to update this drive/ - i was originally pushed towards a Lite-on model by PC world(who know nothing), but it turns out i have a tsst corp CD/DVDW - TS-H552b........can anyone tell me how to update this drive so that it will read more types of disc??????????

However since you can read all the discs exept one it is possible not to be a firmware issue but the disc to be damaged.

Hi best to get fiemware updates from Samsung website www.samsung-odd.com/eng/ ,you can also download a autoupdate or manual update the firmware. It sound as if the 12th. DVD is a bad one. I have the same model touch wood mines works OK had no trouble to date.

the disc in question works fine on another 2 pc(friends) - its the type of disc that is the problem, I have now tried 3 others of the same make and all 3 dont work.
SO!!! - I now have 2 ways's to sort this, has anyone got an idea of the best one???????

p.s the PC is still within the 28 day cover(can firmware mess up?)

The link that "Iggy" posted above would be "BEST" to get the firmware from, as it has a link to region free firmware, as well as enhanced firmware from dangerous brothers, and it has links to the standard firmware.
