I'm trying to backup a copy of the just released Anatomy & Physiology/Revealed Version2006 it was MFG'd by Evatone Inc, Clearwater FL. and is using Hexalock copy protection. I can copy the CD but can't play it because it knows it's not the original disc. I've tried the latest version of CloneCD, Nero Ultra & BlindWrite all ending w/the same results. What can I use to create a successful backup copy I can use?

How'd you determine it is protected with Hexalock? Only reason I ask is I hear nothing can detect this protection yet. However, try creating a profile using these settings: Fast Error Skip - Automatic, Intelligent bad sector scanner - 100, and possibly read SubChannels, and keep your read/write speed under 4x. Be warned though, this is just a educated guess as it's an extremely rare protection and no one seems to have it.

On the underside of the disc in the clear center ring the info was stamped in, MFG, by Evatone, Inc. Clearwater Fl. So I went to their website and they tell about the encryption they use on both CD & DVD media. They use Hexalock on CD's and FlexPlay on DVD's. I'll try the settings you suggested but what program should I use to copy it? So as of right now there isn't any known program that will copy Hexalock protected CD's? Bummer!

I suggest you try scanning it with Aray Protection scanner. There's a good guide at the top of this forum (CD/DVD Copy) if you don't know how to use Aray. I would suggest you use CloneCD. But like I said, it's just a guess, I'm sure it's possible to make a backup, but as I can't seem to find anyone that has even seen this protection, let alone tried to tackle it, it's going to come down to a lot of trial and error. I suggest you use a CD-RW until you know for sure what settings work.
