Wow, what a difference a few months makes. In February, you couldn't purchase a 2GB DDR2-800 memory kit for less than $250. Nowadays, with the prices of memory decreasing almost every day, you can easily buy a 2GB DDR2 kit for almost $200. These price drops shouldn't make consumers think that these more "affordable" RAM modules are packed with any less performance though. To the contrary, Crucial's 2GB Ballistix Tracer PC2-8500 memory kit not only packs a punch at 1066MHz, but will also look amazing with its array of color LEDs on the top and bottom of each stick!

At the top of the ram we have the gap for the activity lights in two rows, these are really just for appearance but as I mentioned earlier those buying these sticks over the regular Ballistix will be purchasing them because of this. Let us move on and see how they fair up in the performance stakes shall we.

The last time we looked at Ballistix tracer memory from Crucial it performed great and received our Editor's Choice Award. This time we are taking a look at the faster PC2-8500 memory running at 1066MHz. If you didn't check out our review of the PC2-6400 Ballistix Tracer memory the actual modules feature two rows of eight "chasing" red and green LED's atop the module, circulating at varying speeds proportional to usage. So let's take a look...

Today we take a look at the Ballistix Tracer PC2-6400 2GB kit from Crucial Technology. For those who haven't heard of the Tracer range, these modules feature eye catching blue backlighting and activity LEDs, making this RAM an excellent choice for making your PC really stand out! With most modern games using more and more memory and at the same time needing loads of bandwidth, this memory would be great for high-end gaming systems.

The most common memory compatibility symptom is significantly less memory being reported by the system, regardless of the fact 4GB is actually plugged in. Bottom line, if your computer applications call for 4GB of memory, you need to install 4GB of RAM from the same manufacturer. In this review PCSTATS picks up four 1GB sticks of Crucial PC2-6400 memory and toss a bunch of benchmarks at it.

When you think of memory, Crucial is a brand that is recognized as stable and trustworthy. It was some time ago that Crucial (and Micron) never provided overclocking RAM and never warranted pushing their modules passed their recommended values. Even back then, people used Crucial modules to push their systems to the limits. Today, Crucial is one of the many memory makers that back overclocking memory as a standard. RAM has come a long way since those early years. Now there are lights and heat spreaders on most memory. The real meat is the speed and timings and that is what we are looking at for the Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2GB PC2-8500 Kit.

You get what you pay for". It's a phrase we hear often, but how much does this statement reflect the truth? The Crucial Ballistix Tracer product lineup is intended to satisfy those who care about aesthetics just as much as performance. So with the Crucial Ballistix Tracer PC2-8500 2GB DDR2 Memory Kit, do you get what you pay for? We'll let you be the judge.

DDR-3 is now coming to the desktop thanks again to Intel. DDR-3 in its early form has been shown to not only outperform DDR-2 at clock for clock speeds (something DDR-2 could not do over DDR-1), but DDR-3 is able to clock higher than DDR-2 could ever dream of, in fact we managed 1500MHz DDR-3 speeds in our recent tests. Today we are stepping back from DDR-3 and looking at some DDR-2 modules from Crucial Technology. While DDR-3 is the future for Intel platforms, DDR-2 is still the mainstream product for Intel as well as the only memory technology currently supported by AMD and its Athlon 64 processors which have memory controllers on the CPU.

Esthetics and appearance aside, these modules are pretty solid...okay, so they are extremely satisfying. You are basically getting the fastest binned memory from the manufacturer who makes the most important component in any other kit of memory rated at the same speed or higher. I am a bench marker and out-right performance is all that impresses me with memory. The 3-4-3 overclocking of this memory has me very impressed and I have had some good kits at those timings. the bonus with this kit is that it clocks at 5-5-5 as well as some of the PC2-9200 modules out there.

While the X1900XTX is not new it still offers excellent bang for buck. ATi released this card to beat the 7800GTX but it ended up being stronger than the 7900GTX as well in my opinion, Let us see if it is all it is promising or is it worth saving that extra quid/buck to get a next Gen card.

Crucial has been one of the top memory manufacturers for a while now, and their Ballistix kits are some of the best loved performance products on the market. Today I have their PC8500 2gb kit, hopefully it can live up to the standard we have all come to expect of products wearing the Ballistix tag.

Who doesn't love cheap computer hardware? Today, we take a look at Crucial's 2x1GB DDR2-667 kit, which comes in at $120 at the time of writing. Can it compete with the more expensive performance kits? We plan to find out.

The company Crucial offers high performance PC2-8500, PC2-8000, PC2-6400 and PC2-5300 modules, but they also provide several inexpensive DDR2 alternatives like e.g. the PC2-4200 modules. The high performance series of Crucial has been already reviewed and overclocked on ocinside.de, so it's time to write an overclocking review about the latest 2GB PC2-4200 kit. This Crucial DDR2-533 memory kit supports the ECC (error correction code) feature, which is particularly very important for servers.
